The Order of the Crown and private servers arrive in Triara

Triara introduces two optional subscriptions: the Order of the Crown, with perks for your team, and private servers, to play your own world with friends. What each includes, what it costs and what it does not do.

Two optional subscriptions: the Order of the Crown and private servers.

When I started this blog I wrote that, if the way the games are funded changed, I would say so here. Triara already had optional coin packs, and now it goes a step further. It can still be played in full for free, but it adds two optional subscriptions: the Order of the Crown and private servers.

The rule I wanted to keep

In a manager game, a team’s strength comes from its squad, and champions are scarce and owned. If real money bought stats, the transfer market would turn into a shop. That is why neither subscription raises your line-up’s stats or takes your champions past the development ceiling everyone shares. Some perks help indirectly (more squad slots, more decks, more friendlies, shielding), and I would rather say so plainly.

The Order of the Crown

It costs €2.99 a month and includes:

  • A squad of fifteen instead of six. There are still three starters, and every extra champion draws its wage like any other. With fifteen you can have all three aras in every lane.
  • Shielding. Only members can shield a champion when someone pays its release clause. They get a notice straight away and a reminder three hours before the window closes.
  • Five decks and three changes per round instead of two and one: a deck against every ara.
  • Six friendlies a day instead of three.
  • The trackers’ alert when the day’s wild pet appears in your league, as long as you can hunt it.
  • The badge: a golden seal with a crown next to your team’s name on the map, the table, the rankings, the profile and the chat.
  • Exclusive shields for your team emblem, a series of twenty.
  • Replays kept for 28 days instead of 14.

If the subscription ends, the squad goes back to six: the captain, the starters and the longest-serving champions stay, and the rest join your league’s free agents. Decks go back to two and your emblem to the last regular shield you used.

Private servers

The public server is called Triara and everyone plays there. A private server works exactly the same way, with its own leagues, cup, market and game-run teams, but you can only join with an invite code. It is meant for playing with friends, a class or a community.

  • It costs €1.99 a month for whoever creates it. Invited players join for free.
  • Each player has one team per server. Your public team stays where it is; on the private server you start a new one from scratch and can switch between them.
  • The owner can remove teams. If the owner stops paying, any other member can take over; if nobody does, the server is archived when the season closes.
  • A team from a private server never moves to the public one. If you leave a private server, that team disappears and its champions become free agents.

A private server does not include the Order: they are separate subscriptions.

Why this way

I run Triara on my own, and it has server, database and art costs. I wanted a way to sustain it that would not turn the league table into a ranking of who pays the most. What is on sale is identity, convenience and a world of your own to play with your people.

Both subscriptions are available from the in-game bank at triara.io, renew monthly and can be cancelled whenever you like.
