Welcome to erandel.com: why this site exists

erandel.com is a personal project where I design, build and maintain free web games. This first post explains what it is all about.

erandel.com brings together small, free web games maintained in public.

I've been making small games on my own for years and, for a long time, those prototypes lived and died on my hard drive. erandel.com exists to get them out into the open: ship each game to the web, keep it publicly maintained, and let people try them without installing anything.

What you'll find on erandel.com

Right now there are three very different games sharing the catalogue:

  • Triara: a turn-based RPG with automatic combat. You recruit champions, train them, equip them with skills, and send them into battles that play themselves out. The whole game lives in line-up and pre-battle strategy.
  • Picturim: a word-guessing game where the answer is hidden behind a picture. The less you reveal, the more points you score.
  • Vectron: a tower defense built around bullet-reflection mechanics. More puzzle than combat.

Why it's free

The games are free and playable without an account. Some show advertising at certain moments to cover hosting costs, but there are no microtransactions, no pay-to-win mechanics, and no mandatory ads to progress. If that ever changes, I'll announce it here on the blog.

Why a blog

The blog is where I share what doesn't fit on a game page: why I made a particular design call, what broke and what I learned, where the roadmap is heading. It's also a place to answer common questions and post release notes. Hopefully some posts double as a small read for other indie developers thinking about shipping their own games.

How to follow it

The easiest way for now is to bookmark /blog. An RSS feed is on the to-do list. If you want to report a bug or suggest something, the contact page is the most direct route.

Thanks for stopping by. See you in the next post.

Update, September 2026: since I wrote this, Triara has become a team manager game and now has optional purchases: coin packs and two subscriptions, the Order of the Crown and private servers. I explain them in this post. It can still be played in full for free.
